Based on a true story – Collectif MYTO

“Based on a true story” offers a reinterpretation of this famous phrase, assuring viewers of the veracity of the content they are about to see. Accompanied by the artist-storytellers Marie Hervé, Clémence Elman and Siouzie Albiach from the MYTO collective, the participating members of the Mouans-Sartoux Photo Club created a publication inspired by the photo-novel format. To do this, they combined writing, staging, shooting and the production of an editorial object.

A publisher and research office, the MYTO collective is a platform dedicated to contemporary charlatans. A self-proclaimed forger, MYTO aims to construct new spaces for collective invention in the age of post-truths. MYTO is a space where every truth, at first glance, should be looked at twice, and where every storyteller is to be taken seriously.
