Nomadic tools from Frac Sud

Mobile resources in the form of bags, boxes and suitcases, these nomadic tools are intended to circulate throughout the regional territory to offer a sensitive approach to contemporary art. They can be borrowed by teachers and partner organizations. They provide the opportunity to discover a work, a theme, or to understand the approach of artists from the Frac collection in a fun, participatory way.

The ‘Sophie Calle’s Autobiograph Suitcase’ is available at the Mougins Center of Photography to be used with about thirty CM2 students from the École élémentaire des Cabrières (Mougins). By discovering Sophie Calle’s practice and comparing it with the work of other photographers, the students appropriated a contemporary autobiographical artistic approach. Breaking away from the duality of document/artwork, they took hold of the photographic act to create, in small groups, procedural works that reflect their identity and recount their daily lives.
The Mougins Center of Photography hosted a training session delivered by Frac Sud for teachers from the Nice Academy in November 2022.
