Jean-Imrane de Ricaud and Arthur Morin, Rouvrir le monde – Un été culturel, 2024
Jean-lmrane de Ricaud and Arthur Morin, both graduates of the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie, combine their respective approaches to color and the printed image.
In residence in Grasse and Vallauris, they organize transmission workshops for the Fondation des Apprentis d’Auteuil. Created in 1866, this foundation is dedicated to training and helping young people in social difficulty to integrate into society.
Using the chimigram technique, a process at the crossroads of drawing and photography, participants are invited to express themselves. Patterns and colors appear on photosensitive paper using household cleaning products. Photography becomes a simple field of exploration, enabling workshop participants to develop an awareness of the random and unexpected in creation.
The transmission workshops also revisit the art of kite-making, using Provencal cane harvested from the local area, with the aim of creating hybrid kite-chimigram shapes and sending them soaring through the air.
