Jean-Imrane de Ricaud and Arthur Morin, Rouvrir le monde – Un été culturel, 2024
Jean-lmrane de Ricaud and Arthur Morin, both graduates of the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie, combine their respective research on the approach to color and the printed image.
In residence in Grasse and Vallauris, they organize transmission workshops with the Fondation des Apprentis d’Auteuil. Created in 1866, this foundation is dedicated to the training and integration assistance of young people facing social difficulties.
Participants are invited to express themselves through the the chemigram technique, a process at the crossroads of drawing and photography. Patterns and colors appear on photosensitive paper using household cleaning products. Photography becomes a simple field of exploration to set up, allowing workshop participants to develop an awareness of the random and unexpected in creation.
The transmission workshops also revisit the art of kite-making, using Provence reeds harvested in the area, with the ultimate goal of creating hybrid forms of chemigram-kites and flying them in the air.
