Dorian Teti lives and works between Paris and Vallauris. After a degree in Art History, he turned to photography, graduating from ENS Louis-Lumière (2011). His work revolves around the staging of intimacy, collective, and individual memory, to reveal the deceptive power of the image, the fake and the copy. Through staging, self-portraits, reappropriation, and photographic or textual associations, he constructs a universe filled with objects, illusions, simulacra, and doubles. For several years, he has combined the image, exploited as fictitious documentation that he systematically retouches, with three-dimensional plastic work, in a constant back-and-forth between the space of the real and that of the image.

Host structure: “Les Cigales” Leisure Centre, Beausoleil (ages 4-11) – Activity duration: 45 hours
The project: During this mediation residency, conducted over three weeks in a leisure centre with children aged 4 to 11, Dorian Teti researched the reproduction of objects collected directly on the premises. Understood in a broad sense, the copying of objects was approached in several stages: through plaster molding, by taking clay impressions, by photogrammetry (to obtain 3D reproductions) and by applying textures generated by the software. In a constant back-and-forth between the space of reality, the two-dimensional image, and 3D, the aim was to merge these different spaces and observe how objects transform each time they are reproduced, always similar but never truly identical.
